Fish : Any gill - bearing aquatic vertebrate animal which lacks limbs with digits...at least according to wikipedia. I am beginning to think about changing that definition so that it includes our daughters. Since our return from our Texas holiday, our girls want to swim 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pool, beach, lake, stream, puddle...if it holds water, they want to swim in it, and yes, this includes the bath tub. Any way...last Sunday, James and I decided we were tired of sitting in the house, so off to the beach we went. The beach at Mooloolaba...yeah, good luck pronouncing that one. Mooloolaba is a little town about an hour north from our house, on the Sunshine Coast. By 9:45AM on Sunday we had loaded the car with children, adults, beach umbrella, food and drink and off we went. Once there we were again met with a clean, gorgeous beach. Good waves, soft sand and a section of beach that was not too crowded.
There were lots of sailboats out that day. James with two of the boats behind him.
Hey mom, look...your daughter bought herself a sunshirt...SPF 50!!!!! With Australia having no ozone to protect us, we are getting on board with the sun protection...and mole detection. James and I both have appointments to have our skin checked for any issues...YAY! :<
Crarwling through the water. Not afraid of waves or water anymore.
Jumping the waves!
For the most part, the girls play great together. They do enjoy each other's company, even at the beach.
Not all of our swimming takes place at a beach. Luckily we have the pool in the backyard. I have been VERY grateful during this hot and humid summer to have the pool in the backyard. We usually swim after getting Kenyon from school. The afternoons are very steamy...to put it nicely.
Goggles are a big hit with the girls right now. They love the fact that they can see underwater.
